ISEP Certificate in Sustainability and Environmental Management Explained
ISEP, formerly known as IEMA, is the professional body for everyone working in environment and sustainability. This course will enable you to make a positive difference as a sustainability practitioner and it's ideal for anyone wishing to upgrade their ISEP membership to Practitioner Level (PISEP) and Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP).
The ISEP Certificate in Sustainability and Environmental Management course syllabus covers a wide range of environmental and sustainability issues to enable you to become a practitioner who can drive change in organisations. A practical approach is adopted to enable organisations to improve their environmental performance and reduce their impacts, both strategically and operationally.

It is recommended to have taken the ISEP Foundation Certificate in Sustainability and Environmental Management or similar course, or to have gained equivalent knowledge and skills via work experience.
The module demonstrates how to collect and critically analyse data and report information. It covers how to identify problems and assess opportunities that deliver innovation and determine the most effective ways of communicating the findings.
The module showcases how to apply or implement tools, techniques, systems and practices to identify opportunities and risks, as well as implement change and transformation.
You will then need to complete an Assessment of Competence based on work experience, this is taken after all other modules have been successfully completed. This is to qualify for Practitioner Membership of ISEP (PISEP).

Learners must pass all three assignments to register for the ISEP Practitioner Membership (PISEP) assessment. From there, learners take an assessment of competence based on work experience.
Learners will receive their marks approximately sixty days after their submission.

For the ISEP Certificate in Environmental Management, via classroom or virtual study, it takes 15 days, delivered as 3 split weeks.
Post-nominals will shift to AISEP, PISEP and MISEP, while course titles will be updated to match the new brand, with no changes to content.
Certificates issued after 8 January 2025 will carry the ISEP branding and earlier certificates remain valid. We'll continue to share updates as they're confirmed. For the latest updates, you can read more here.
