The number of company directors and senior managers prosecuted for health and safety offences has tripled over the past year, according to figures released by law firm Clyde & Co. In the 12 months leading to 31 March 2016, the HSE prosecuted 46 directors and managers, up from 15 the year before. Of the 46, 12 were convicted to prison sentences, the longest of which was 2 years. 

Today marks National Stress Awareness Day here in the UK. Established by the International Stress Management Association (ISMA), the event provides individuals and businesses with information on stress awareness and strategies on how to minimise the risk of stress in the workplace. 

This weekend will see millions of people happily descend upon the streets in their costumes to celebrate Halloween 2016. The American-influenced holiday has seen a rapid rise of popularity over the past decade - largely influenced by cult TV shows and films like Harry Potter, Twilight or the Vampire Diaries - and is now the third biggest commercial holiday here in the UK, placed only behind Christmas and Easter. 

This week marks Health and Wellbeing week here in the UK, featuring a variety of activities to help encourage and enhance everyone’s understanding of health and wellbeing. Major employers including Costain, Heathrow, the Metropolitan Police, Thames Water and Transport for London (TfL) have all committed to providing information in order to help other organisations promote the health and wellbeing of their workforce.
