Get Involved in Learning at Work Week

May 2017

This week marks the 18th Learning at Work Week (LAWW), an annual event organised by The Campaign for Learning since 1999 which aims to ‘put a spotlight on the importance and benefits of learning and development at work’ in the month of May.

This year’s theme is 'Curious and Creative'. All types and sizes of organisations - from multinationals and SMEs to public sector organisations and government departments - are invited to get involved by encouraging interesting discussions, collaboration and creative flair amongst their employees. Individuals can also take part as a learners, learning champion, learning provider and ULR.

A catalyst for change

LAWW provides a great opportunity to run a branded learning campaign, linked to a national event, in your workplace. With easy to follow frameworks and many creative ideas, LAWW inspires learning, promotes learning culture, stimulates curiosity and engages employees in the learning process.

Many companies now use LAWW as a catalyst for change, using it as an opportunity to rebrand or refresh learning and development, reinforcing a commitment to staff development and celebrating year round learning through interest-led activities, award ceremonies and business-focused sessions.

"The Campaign for Learning is inclusive and aims to create an environment where learning is valued, understood, wanted and widely available to every individual. Creating relevant, engaging, flexible learning experiences, which support individuals in their pursuit of furthering their career in health and safety and the environment, are key considerations for all of the team during the design and development of Astutis courses. We are delighted to be supporting Learning at Work Week."

Get involved

Promote an inclusive approach to learning, encourage the extension of opportunities to learn and inspire increased participation by getting involved in Learning at Work Week. Registering is free and gives you access to online and printed resources and sessions as well as guidance and planning seminars for organisations.

Plan events and activities that fit your business context and are directly linked to business goals and the needs of employees, for a long term impact.

With the regulatory and legislative landscape continually changing, developing and evolving in the health and safety arena, learning at work is ever-important. You can read more about developing and cultivating a strong learning culture over on the Astutis Blog:
