Workplace Absence Costs UK Economy £18bn
A recently released report by FirstCare reveals workplace absence is costing the UK economy an enormous £18 billion in lost productivity each year. This is part of an upward spiral showing workplace absence increasing year-on-year since 2011 - having previously witnessed a downward trend since 1993. The report further suggests that the cost of absence will continue to rise to reach £21bn by 2020, increasing to a staggering £26bn by 2030.

Astutis Backs Mental Health Charity
In 2016 Astutis set out to hit new targets and take its Kidney Wales fundraising total of 5 years to £10k. Thanks to the generous donations received at events held throughout the year including an auction, raffle and Office Olympics, we were able to exceed our expectations and raise over £3000, taking our Kidney Wales fundraising total to a massive £11,411! Astutis also took part in several other national fundraising ventures, raising over £300 for charities such as Sports Relief, Children in Need and Save the Children.

Time to Talk Day: Tackling Mental Health Stigma in the Workplace
Statistics show that mental health is now the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK, with 1 in 6 British workers affected by issues such as anxiety, depression and stress and costing an average of £1,035 per employee each year. This means we are probably all working with someone who is experiencing a mental health problem.
