World Mental Health Day 2022
Today is the day for acceptance. The day to admit it is okay, not to be okay.
October 10 2022, is World Mental Health Day. We are promoting the day in an effort to utilise the day to its full potential for greater mental health and well-being awareness. This must start in the workplace.
The Mental Health Foundation suggests that 1 in 6.8 people experience mental health problems in the workplace (14.7%) and that 12.7% of all sickness absence days in the UK can be attributed to mental health conditions.
Let's all step up in the fight against mental ill-health in the workplace, not just for our peers but for ourselves first and foremost. This means having potentially uncomfortable inner conversations about how we feel. If you suffer, the first step is admitting there is a problem. This can be the most challenging hurdle if you have never confronted mental health. Therefore we always stress the need to open up and talk to someone you trust about your well-being.
