Astutis Launch Quarterly Newsletter

April 2023

We are delighted to announce the launch of our dedicated newsletter.

It is designed to give you the latest health, safety and environmental trends by showcasing the latest and most fundamental insights from the world of health, safety and environmental training. We hope the newsletter will make life-saving health, safety and environmental training courses as accessible as possible at a time when its importance cannot be understated.

In our inaugural newsletter, we revisit Astutis' Health, Safety and Environmental Training Report 2022-2023, which provided readers with a comprehensive study into attitudes and cultures towards health and safety training. The report also analysed the necessity for a swift uptake in environmental health and safety training for organisations worldwide and a more rigorous approach from global governance to meet environmental pledges. The report exists to provide the first academic study into the current state of affairs in the field of health, safety and environmental training whilst also casting a forensic lens over the broader subject of culture and attitudes in the in HSE industry.

We also pinpoint how Astutis continues to utilise the industry-leading advancements in advanced learner theory and psychological stimulation in health, safety and environmental training. Saffire Paris, an esteemed Astutis Visual Designer, joins The Health and Safety Digest to discuss how these elements have been incorporated into the latest Astutis NEBOSH Online General Certificate offering. The course continues to stand as a pivotal health, safety and environmental training courses for organisations and individuals worldwide, embedding the 'Plan, Do, Act Check' methodology with practical understanding on how to improve workplace health and safety from day one. Discover how we are pushing the potential of digital training in this episode of The Health and Safety Digest.

To complete the newsletter, we look closely at one of our newest courses, the IOSH-approved Behavioural Science for Leadership in Safety course. The course introduces a scientific and analytical approach to health and safety, investigating the causes of human factors in the workplace. The impact of human factors and their causation strongly influences health and safety; understanding how to control them positively is pivotal. The IOSH-approved Behavioural Science for Leadership in Safety course will get you there. Find out more about the importance of the course and how it can radically enhance your organisation.

  • "The two weeks of comprehensive in-class training, coupled with the gaps between the exams, provided ample time for preparation and reflection on what I learned in the classroom. NG2 was very interesting, and the classroom exercises helped me grasp the theme of assessment, specifically how (RMs) were assessed."

  • "The online learning portal was easy and straight forward to use, it was well laid out and had fantastic online resource sections which were great for printing out to have to hand - especially handy for highlighting important points. I had purchased the NEBOSH Managing Health and Safety book to help with my study, but in all honesty, the information in the portal covered all the relevant material anyway. I only needed to phone for assistance on a couple of occasions, but found the guidance helpful and quick."

  • "Having a secondary role at work as a Health and Safety coordinator means passing the NEBOSH General Certificate is a great indication of the knowledge and understanding I have achieved so far. This is a staple qualification in this field and I now have the confidence to venture into Health and Safety in a more primary role and as a progression of career."
