Eni Ojeaga NEBOSH International General Certificate

Eni was given a new job as a Health and Safety Representative by her employer. She’d considered a career in health and safety for a while and was determined to make a success of her new role. So she decided to take the NEBOSH General Certificate to get a strong foundation of knowledge and kick-start her career.

Choosing the right qualification

Eni wanted to take a professional qualification in health and safety. She had a clear aim to succeed in the field of health and safety management. She knew that the safety of her co-workers was her responsibility, so she was determined to do the best she could to protect them from harm. From a personal point of view, she also wanted to build a strong career for herself.

After researching her options, Eni chose to take the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC). The IGC is one of the world’s most popular health and safety qualifications. It’s designed for Managers, Supervisors and Health and Safety Representatives, like Eni. And it teaches the fundamentals of health and safety management to help people carry out their health and safety responsibilities. Eni knew it would give the perfect foundation of learning that she was looking for.

The qualification focuses on international best practice set by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and OHSAS 45001 Management System. This global approach means it helps make sure everyone is working to an approved high standard, no matter where they operate. So, it would help Eni apply her skills to job roles in her own country and internationally.

Eni has relocated to Europe since taking her course. She is now NEBOSH Certified which she feels has put her in a better position for her career and stands her in good stead in her new local market.
