IOSH Managing Safely

Company profile

Barbour, the IOSH approved information provider, produces services that are used across a variety of commercial and public organisations in the UK and Ireland. Their online information resources are designed to help clients to improve decision making, understand complex information areas, reduce risks and manage projects.

Solution

Astutis were approached by Barbour to assist in the upskilling of a number of their advisers in an accredited health and safety training course delivered to a flexible timescale.

Heather Beech, Director at Barbour wanted a dynamic and energetic presentation that set out to enthuse staff and increase their knowledge so that they could work closely and knowledgeably with their clients. For this reason Tom Lea was selected to deliver a bespoke IOSH Managing Safely course and the feedback was excellent. Delegate comments included '"Tom was really friendly and approachable - he made the course fun!''

Astutis was also able to deliver the training over split weeks so that it did not have a dramatic impact on productivity - in one case, a delegate could not finish the training due to illness and so he followed the highly acclaimed Astutis online IOSH Managing Safely in order to complete the training on time.

'Astutis have been incredibly flexible in delivering exactly what we wanted' commented Heather, adding also 'the feedback from my colleagues has been excellent and Tom has really helped to upskill the team not only to pass the IOSH exam but also learn more specific information to help our clients to make the right choices'.

Barbour online service offers full text documentation on legislation, regulations and standards from over 600 information providers, including HSE, Environment Agency and BSI, plus case law and prosecutions from key sources. Barbour also provides customers with resources to help manage their health and safety responsibilities.
