Safety and Health Expo 2018 Highlights

Last week saw another successful experience for Astutis at the Safety & Health Expo 2018 the UK’s largest health and safety conference. This year’s event welcomed over 13,000 visitors, showcasing an exclusive selection of products, services and safety solutions from over 250 leading suppliers. 

Team Astutis spent a jam-packed 3 days catching up with current learners, long-time clients and welcoming new friends on our brand new stand.
 

Keynote Speakers

Guest speaker, comedian and qualified mental health expert, Ruby Wax OBE delivered a fantastically inspiring yet light-hearted presentation, addressing the vital importance of maintaining a healthy mental state, as well as offering advice and guidance for company leaders on the fundamentals of good communication and how it’s so meaningful within a strong working environment.

Two additional influential speakers, Nicky Moffat CBE, formerly the British Army’s highest-ranking female officer and Sir Clive Woodward OBE, ex England rugby coach and Director of Sport at the British Olympic Association, joined Ruby on the Keynote Stage across the three days. They both gave engaging, yet diverse talks on topics including the essentials of teamwork, ways of changing behaviours and attitudes for career development and promoting positive working cultures for staff and organisations. 

Exciting new seminars

SHExpo’s Seminar program saw a variety of captivating sessions across the five theatres, a chance for visitors to hear from CPD accredited experts within their fields. A seminar highlight was the very popular Occupational Health and Wellbeing Zone. An all-new addition from last year, this area encouraged visitor participation by running yoga classes throughout the day, as well as accommodating a theatre hosting panels and educational lectures that really focused on accentuating the health aspect in health and safety. This unique space was a hit with visitors, and we hope to see it again next year.
