IOSH Working Safely gains Construction Industry Recognition
Long awaited positive news is that the IOSH Working Safely course is now recognised by Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). Successful completion of IOSH Working Safely by people who are working or plan to work in a construction environment are now able to apply for a CSCS green Labourer card once they have also passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives online Test.
Astutis’ health and safety tutor David Bryan who specialises in construction courses comments, “This positive development between IOSH and CSCS opens up greater choice and opportunities for individuals and companies in the construction sector. IOSH Working Safely will benefit companies whose employees will be better able to apply their knowledge practically to their workplace; this will help develop a positive culture with improved employee performance, enhanced reputation and with less disruption caused by accidents and staff absence.”
Companies can be reassured that the one day IOSH Working Safely qualification meets the government’s guidelines for introductory health and safety training. The IOSH Working Safely course is equivalent to a Level 1 Award in health and safety in a construction environment.
