Renowned Environmentalist Adds to Astutis' Armoury
Astutis is delighted to announce that respected Environmentalist and seasoned Health and Safety Consultant, Dr Fiona Draper, will be joining the team on September 16th.
Fiona, who is more usually known as Fi, has previously delivered a broad spectrum of cost-effective training and consultancy solutions within both the public and private sectors. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (FIEMA), a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and a Fellow of the Institute for Learning (FIfL).
Fi (pictured right Kayaking off Puffin Island, Anglesey) will be managing the delivery and development of Environmental courses at Astutis while also delivering a wide range of courses including the NEBOSH Diploma. She is a passionate environmentalist and in her own words, if you cut her open she’d be green! She also prides herself in being an enthusiastic, hardworking and innovative consultant with qualities we are sure that everyone she has trained over the years would readily endorse.
Steve Terry, Managing Director at Astutis said:
"I am delighted that Fi is joining the team. Having worked with her for many years, I fully understand the commitment and care that she puts into every course she develops and delivers. Fi will be working with many of her previous colleagues from CHSS days, all of whom cannot wait for her to get started."
Having qualified and worked as a teacher in 1985, Fi cites environmental issues as her first love and teaching as her second. She takes a great deal of pleasure in seeing her students progress and grow into Health and Safety or Environmental professionals. Her doctorate (The Development of a Student-Centred Evaluation Framework for Environmental Vocational Education and Training Courses) was fuelled by this passion and provided the foundation for an active, published research interest in training evaluation and the transfer of learning to the workplace.
Fi said:
“I am really looking forward to joining the Astutis team. The organisation has developed at a rapid rate and with a broad spectrum of courses, international venues and market-leading online learning solutions, is a leading Health and Safety and Environmental Training provider and Consultancy. It will be great to be working with a formidable team including former colleagues - I am even learning Welsh in preparation for my trips to Cardiff!."
In her spare time Fi is an active member of a Kayak and Canoeing Club and is also in training for her first triathlon which she is set to undertake next year at the age of 51. With her boundless energy, she is sure to whip the rest of us in the Astutis team into shape!
