- Natasha is currently developing her career by studying further tutoring and health and safety qualifications.
Natasha is an experienced tutor, having spent over ten years in training, work-based learning and private tutoring. Working at a Boots distribution centre as a Training Co-Ordinator, she had a positive impact on the hundreds of staff facing redundancy from their roles. Natasha spent two years working with the staff to increase their confidence and skills, providing informal and relaxed training sessions on topics such as CV writing, job applications, interview skills and basic IT.
Working closely with local partners in order to provide job and training opportunities, she soon realised that training was definitely her calling. It was at Boots that Natasha completed her Train the Trainer qualification, IOSH Managing Safely and the NEBOSH General Certificate.
Following on from the closure of the distribution centre in 2010, Natasha became an NVQ Assessor and worked one to one with learners completing up to a level 4 qualification in Management, Team Leading, Business Administration, Customer Service and Retail. All industries were covered, so she gained a wealth of knowledge from a diverse client base. Alongside this, she also coached, mentored and taught customer service, business administration and CIEH Level 2 Health and Safety to groups of schoolchildren aged between 14 and 17. Natasha became the lead Retail Assessor, but decided after a few years that her passion lay more in direct one to one tutoring, so made the decision to follow her love of teaching literacy by becoming an Essential Skills tutor. As well as literacy, she taught basic numeracy along with IT.
Always maintaining a keen interest in Health and Safety, Natasha answered an advertisement for an Online Health and Safety tutor, knowing the role had been made for her, and the rest as they say, is history.
Natasha is now the Online Tutor for the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. The premise of her role is quite a simple, but valuable one – she is here to support our online learners. This is done in numerous ways, from answering emails with technical health and safety questions, to speaking to learners on the telephone or Skype, creating discussion posts to encourage learner engagement, writing informative articles and blog posts, and generally tutoring and supporting our learners to pass their qualifications.
Natasha has recently been writing a series of webinars that she will be presenting on a range of topics that every NEBOSH Certificate learner can benefit from.
