Dr. Fiona Draper is a widely respected Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), a Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). She has over 30 years combined experience working in education, manufacturing industries, research and development and as a Health, Safety and Environmental Consultant and Trainer.
Fiona initially trained and worked as a science teacher before beginning a second career as a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager following the completion of her MSc in Manufacturing Management. During this time, she worked for specialist engineering, pharmaceutical, fine chemicals and research and development focused organisations. She also played a significant role within their on-site emergency teams.
Fiona has extensive experience in the development and auditing of management systems, the management of risk, emergency planning, legislative compliance and sustainable development. She has an in-depth knowledge of lifelong learning and has a doctorate in Environmental Vocational Education and Training.
Fiona has authored and co-authored a number of academic and professional papers and studies. She has significant experience writing and delivering health, safety and environmental courses, including academic courses and courses accredited by NEBOSH, IOSH and IEMA. Fiona regularly works with clients from a diverse range of industrial sectors to develop and deliver courses that are tailored or bespoke to the client. As a multi-lingual trainer she has also written, adapted and delivered material specifically for use in an international environment
As a trainer/consultant, Fiona has provided bespoke health, safety and environmental consultancy solutions to a broad range of clients. She has also led teams of specialist consultants who have been involved in more extensive projects. Examples of her consultancy work include engineering risk assessments and the development, auditing and implementation of health, safety and environmental management systems. She has also been involved in, for example, waste management and sustainable development focused activities and emergency planning.
