Astutis Safety for Representatives
Safety for Representatives provides safety representatives (SR) and representatives of employee safety (RoES) with the necessary knowledge to understand their role and responsibilities, and how their actions can positively impact health and safety in the workplace.
On completion of the course delegates will be better able to define hazard and risk, identify a range of common workplace hazards, contribute to improving safety performance and undertake the role and functions of safety representatives (SR), representatives of employee safety (RoES) and contribute to safety committees.

142 workers were killed at work in 2019/2020. Training a safety representative will make sure can effectively manage key health and safety issues, creating a safer working environment and reducing the risk of injury or ill-health to employees.
Safety representatives work closely with employees and employers to promote good health and safety practices. Through effective consultation they are able to balance health and safety goals with other business objectives to improve performance.
The HSC puts the average cost of an accident causing absence from work at approximately £2100. Establishing good health and safety practice will help reduce the risk of this financial burden.

The assessment takes the form of an open discussion between the tutor and the learners. Case studies, senario learning are used throughout the course to ensure that course objectives are met.
Learners who successfully pass the course will receive a certificate of competency in the role as a Safety Representative.
