In 2016 Astutis set out to hit new targets and take its Kidney Wales fundraising total of 5 years to £10k. Thanks to the generous donations received at events held throughout the year including an auction, raffle and Office Olympics, we were able to exceed our expectations and raise over £3000, taking our Kidney Wales fundraising total to a massive £11,411! Astutis also took part in several other national fundraising ventures, raising over £300 for charities such as Sports Relief, Children in Need and Save the Children.
We are pleased to announce that throughout 2017 we will be bringing the same enthusiasm and commitment to raise awareness for our new charity of the year, Mind.
Mind is a leading mental health charity, providing supportive and reliable information to help people understand mental health and the choices available to them through their Infoline, legal advice service, publications and local Mind offices.
Shockingly, One in four people will experience a mental health condition every year with mental health issues now three times more common than cancer. Mind campaigns on a range of issues that affect those with mental health problems, including health services, legislation, protection of legal rights and employment, as well as providing workplace training to develop mentally healthy offices, applied suicide intervention skills and mental health first aid.
Managing Director Steve Terry commented:
“Mental health is a huge issue here in the UK, yet it is still unfamiliar to talk about. It's important for everyone to be able to spot the signs of mental health in ourselves as well as our friends, family and colleagues early, so that collectively we can do something to help. Mind does a fantastic job in raising awareness on these key issues and helping to ensure that mental health is no longer a taboo subject which is why Astutis is so pleased to be able to offer its support”
