Aviation Specialist Strengthens Consultancy Expertise
Rod Blest (CMIOSH, TIFireE, AIEMA) joins the Astutis team this week as Health and Safety Consultant.
Having worked for bmi since 2004, more recently as Acting Head of Safety, Health and Environment, Rod brings with him a wealth of experience specific to the Aviation sector.
Rod is an accomplished leader with an exemplary record in the planning, implementation and management of Health & Safety and training projects. He has delivered a multitude of projects on time and within budget across diverse areas of Health and Safety including: Manual Handling, Contractor Management, Airside Safety, Noise Risk Assessment, Audit Strategy and Course Development as well as a £2.4m project addressing Working at Height issues.

As a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and Associate Member of the Institute of Environment Management and Assessment, Rod is well-placed to deliver advice and consultancy solutions as well as training initiatives. With over 10 years’ experience in the aviation industry, Rod was key to the development of the IOSH Managing Safely in Aviation course.
