There are 2 half day exams for the NGC1 and FC1; FC2 is assessed with a 2-hour practical fire risk assessment carried out in the workplace.

This qualification meets academic requirements for Technical Membership (TechIOSH) of IOSH and Associate Membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) It enables you to apply for Technician Membership of the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO) and it also meets the academic requirements for Associate Membership (AMIFPO). Persons with the relevant skills and experience may also apply to join the IFPO Fire Risk Assessors Register.
