Health & Safety Officer Career Profile

Role

Health & Safety Officers promote safe working practices within an organisation. It is their role to conduct audits identifying potential hazards, measure their risks and put controls in place. They will also make recommendations in regard to avoiding accidents in the workplace and coordinate HSE training for employees.

Typical salary range

£28-38k p.a.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Good communication skills.
Ability to stay calm in high stress situations.
Motivated/ well organised, the Health & Safety Officer is often required to maintain their own inspection records.
NEBOSH General Certificate.
For some roles experience of OHSAS Management Systems is also needed.
